Of the physicians surveyed in September, 40.2 percent indicated their practice was still evaluating whether or not to participate on an exchange product. For those physicians, the greatest barriers to participation included:
• Low reimbursement rates would pose a financial risk for our practice
• Financial liability during a 90-day grace period for ACA exchange enrollees
• Concerns about the financial burden of patient collections
The survey included responses from more than 1,000 physician group practices.
