Survey: Majority of Private Practices Think They’re Early Adopters

Overall, private practice managers and physicians feel that their practices take the ‘early adopter’ approach when making operating decisions, according to a study by WhiteSpace Health Care.

The consulting and research firm has released the results of its study on the drivers behind challenges facing private practice.

The population of the study included hundreds of physicians and practice managers representing several specialties from around the globe. Several one-on-one interviews were also conducted with leading healthcare experts, consultants and economists.

Four approaches private practices take when making operating decisions, according to the study, are:

Early adopter — 55 percent
Innovator — 23 percent
Late adopter — 19 percent
Laggard — 3 percent
