The medical group has been under scrutiny recently for its patient-transfer policies. Emergency Medicine Physicians has been criticized for transferring patients for financial reasons, according to the Las Vegas Sun, and state regulators recently interviewed ER staff about those policies.
A St. Rose spokeswoman, Kate Grey, told the Las Vegas Sun the decision to end the contract with Emergency Medicine Physicians was a “business decision.” The medical group declined to comment, according to the report.
The system is searching for a new medical group to staff its emergency departments.
