The name change is part of the health system’s efforts to unify the vision and mission of its 30 hospitals and network of physicians and clinics, according to the report.

The health system was named after businessman Denny Sanford who donated $400 million to Sioux Valley Health System in 2007. Sioux Valley changed its name to Sanford Health after receiving the gift.
