The hospital was developed by Norfolk, Va.-based Sentara Healthcare in partnership with Bon Secours Virginia. The two health systems partnered in 2008 in develop the hospital in order to build a bigger facility with more comprehensive services.
The new hospital will feature 160 beds, general and specialized surgical services, critical care and a full-service emergency department.
