Rush University Medical Center reveals plans for expansion

Chicago-based Rush University Medical Center released its initial plans for expanding its Near West Side campus.

The plans include the construction of a $500 million outpatient facility, which still needs the approval of state regulators, according to the Chicago Tribune. Additional planning for the project will occur early next year.

As part of the process, Rush is also working on redeveloping campus buildings and utilizing the campus of Chicago-based Malcolm X College, which Rush is in the process of acquiring.
