A study by the Massachusetts Medical Society stated that Massachusetts community hospitals are having difficulty filling physician vacancies. But leaders from Lowell General Hospital in Boston and Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Mass., said they have not had a problem recruiting the physicians they need.
Angela Strunk, manger of marketing and public relations at Lowell General, said that physicians were attracted to the Boston location. Richard Nesto, MD, CMO of Lahey Clinic, said Lahey Clinic’s location attracted physicians there as well.
