The contract includes around 278 physicians who care for close to 29,000 patients in the BCBSMA system, according to the release. NEPHO is part of Northeast Health System and New England Community Medical Group and represents primary care and specialty physicians that work at acute inpatient and ambulatory care hospitals including Beverly and Addison Gilbert Hospitals.
The AQC combines global payment models with quality-based incentives and allows physicians to allocate healthcare resources based their benefit to patient health, according to the release. The program is aimed at improving quality of care and patient experience, while reducing costs.
