AtlantiCare, based in Egg Harbor Township, N.J., is launching its own accountable care organization and plans to enroll groups of people in 2012, according to a system news release.

The ACO will be called AtlantiCare Health Solutions and it will operate through AtlantiCare Health Solutions, a New Jersey non-profit corporation. Partner payors and independent and employed physicians will participate in the ACO, which will have a separate governing board mostly comprised of physicians.

AtlantiCare Health Solutions and participating physicians will adopt new technologies and care processes such as electronic medical records, after-hours triage and care navigation and the ability to report on quality and cost across all settings of care, according to the release.
