The residency is designed for recent graduates and nurses with less than one year of experience. It provides nurse residents with intensive one-on-one training with a coach, in addition to case scenarios and professional reflection.
The program is unusual — the nurse residency is a relatively new concept, Joan Kavanagh, associate chief nursing officer for nursing education and professional development told The News-Herald. Ms. Kavanagh created the program at Cleveland Clinic, according to the report.
