Mission Hospital Seeks to Acquire Asheville Neonatology

Asheville, N.C.-based Mission Hospital has filed a letter with the U.S. Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission to acquire Asheville Neonatology, according to an Asheville Citizen-Times report.

Asheville Neonatology has staffed the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit since 1978. It is the only neonatal practice in western North Carolina, according to the report.

As part of the pending acquisition, the practice’s five physicians would be employed by the hospital.
