Marion General Hospital is operated by Columbus-based OhioHealth. OhioHealth will establish a new, non-profit physician employment model as a part of acquisition, according to the report.
In the deal, the hospital will buy the Smith Clinic buildings in Marion and the outstanding shares of Marion Area Health Center and Marion Ancillary Services. The deal is effective Oct. 28.
Smith Clinic employs about 75 physicians.
The agreement is part of Marion General’s plan to become a regional healthcare hub, according to the report.
