Major Physician Shortage Concerns New CEO of Mississippi’s Neshoba General

Thomas Bland, CEO of Neshoba County General Hospital in Philadelphia, Miss., has called for 11 additional physicians to serve the needs of Philadelphia and Neshoba County, according to a Neshoba Democrat report.

Mr. Bland has served as CEO of Neshoba General since July. He said physician recruitment remains a primary need for the hospital, which currently has 12 physicians on staff.

The hospital board is actively recruiting physicians, according to the report. In the last year, Mr. Bland said the hospital has lost several physicians to competitors.
