Humana, Banner Sign Accountable Care Agreement

The Phoenix-based Banner Health Network and health insurer Humana have signed an agreement to enhance care coordination for Humana’s Medicare members, effective Jan. 1.

Humana and Banner will work to increase care quality and efficiency, drive greater care coordination and minimize the overuse and misuse of care.

The agreement will reward Banner Health Network’s care providers if they improve quality and efficiency outcomes. The guidelines and quality benchmarks of the agreement were not specified in the release.
