The Teaching Health Center Graduate Medical Education Payment Program awards, funded by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, help support the training of more than 550 residents in family and internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, psychiatry, and general and pediatric dentistry during the 2014-2015 academic year.
“[This program] brings hospitals, academic centers, health centers and community organizations together to provide top-notch medical education and services in areas of the country that need them most,” Mary Wakefield, HRSA administrator, said in a release.
