Mr. McDonough references several inforgraphics released by The Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation of Massachusetts detailing various healthcare provider organizations in the state. He explains that while Partners has fewer hospitals (seven) than rival Steward Health Care System (10), Partners has 1,165 primary care providers in 15 groups, compared to Steward’s 559 PPCs in 24 groups.
“The size of Partners’ physician network (called Partners Community Healthcare Inc., PCHI, or “peachy”) is larger than #2 (Steward) or #3 (Atrius), combined,” writes Mr. McDonough.
