Florida hospital employee allegedly slaps 70-year-old man in road rage incident

Police arrested an Atlantis, Fla.-based JFK Medical Center employee April 18 after he allegedly slapped a 70-year-old man during a road rage incident, according to WPTV News.

The 70-year-old victim told police Esteban Pedroza tailgated his vehicle while he was driving to JFK Hospital.

The elderly man told authorities he pulled into the hospital parking garage when Mr. Pedroza cut the man off and got out of his own vehicle. Surveillance video of the hospital parking lot reportedly captured Mr. Pedroza reaching his arms through the 70-year-old man’s car window and slapping him in the face, according to the report.

Mr. Pedroza, who is listed in the police report as a material worker at the hospital, told police the elderly man shouted racial remarks at him, which prompted him to become angry. He also denied slapping the individual, the report states.

Mr. Pedroza was arrested and is facing charges of battery on a person older than 65 years old.
