CHOP is the first children’s hospital to receive ACO accreditation and is among the first five organizations to be accredited nationally.
To receive the accreditation, CHOP was assessed on 14 standards and 65 elements, including the following:
• ACO structure and operations
• Access to needed providers
• Patient-centered primary care
• Care management
• Care coordination and transitions
• Patient rights and responsibilities
• Performance reporting and quality improvement
“Years of hard work across the organization has built an infrastructure that supports quality improvements, patient-centered care and care coordination,” Madeline Bell, CHOP’s president and COO, said in a news release. “CHOP is honored to be recognized for its efforts to meet the diverse health care needs of our patients.”
