Bronson Healthcare Acquires HealthCare Midwest Physician Group

HealthCare Midwest, a multispecialty group with 80 care providers in Kalamazoo, Mich., is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Bronson Healthcare, a nonprofit, community-governed system also in Kalamazoo.

HealthCare Midwest is now named Bronson HealthCare Midwest. The transition took place July 1. Bronson HealthCare Midwest has a physician-led operational structure, and an operating committee comprised of Bronson HealthCare Midwest physicians and Bronson Healthcare executives oversees the group’s direction. Overall governance comes from the Bronson Healthcare system board of directors, according to the news release.

“Bronson and HealthCare Midwest share a passion for excellence and for making decisions based on what is in the best interest of the patient. Aligning our organizations will help us continue to advance clinical quality, integrate information technology and recruit and retain a solid base of excellent providers,” Robert Isaksen, MD, a member of the Bronson HealthCare Midwest operating committee, said in the news release.
