If the bill becomes law, physicians would be allowed to supervise up to eight PAs, and PAs could “execute practice-related activities” that the supervising physician gives them. It would better support the medical team model of care, according to the report.
The bill was introduced to reduce the effects of the state’s physician shortage, where 16 counties have fewer than seven active physicians per 10,000 people, The Florida Current reported.
