The health plan will offer benefits at lower costs when individuals choose from a select group of physicians.
“Patients want high-quality care and they are concerned about cost,” Glenn Fosdick, the president and CEO of The Nebraska Medical Center, said in the news release. “This collaboration addresses both, and it a unique way for practicing physicians to provide input into the design and utilization of an insurance plan.”
The combined network includes coverage for specialty programs, including complete women’s care and an orthopedic and sports medicine center.
The new SelectBlue plan hits the Omaha market this September.
