The centers will be focused on hospitality, wellness and service and will specialize in customized, high-quality, technologically advanced recovery and rehabilitation. They will have a resort or spa-like environment.
The first two centers, still in planning stages, will be on the campus of Unity Hospital in Fridley, Minn., and the campus of Abbott Northwestern’s WestHealth in Plymouth, Minn.
“As healthcare reform moves forward, our communities will need new approaches to ensuring that after people leave the hospital they receive the care they need to make a successful transition back home and they don’t end up back in the hospital,” Kenneth Paulus, president and CEO of Allina Health, said in a news release.
