University Health in Georgia Joins Novant’s Shared Services Partnership

Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health has added another partner to its Shared Services division: University Health Care System in Augusta, Ga.

Novant Health Shared Services aims to help hospitals and health systems reduce expenses and improve patient care by leveraging economies of scale, benchmark performance and collaborate on supply chain, revenue cycle, service line management and other areas.

University Health Care System, which includes 581-bed University Hospital, will remain independent and retain local ownership and governance.

Novant now has four hospitals and health systems within its Shared Services partnership: University Hospital, Cape Fear Valley Health System in Fayetteville, N.C., Memorial Health in Savannah, Ga., and Ashe Memorial Hospital in Jefferson, N.C.
