3 Entities Negatively Impacting Private Practices

In general, private practice managers and physicians find that insurance companies negatively impact their practice, according to a study by WhiteSpace Health Care.

The consulting and research firm has released the results of its study on the drivers behind challenges facing private practice.

The population of the study included hundreds of physicians and practice managers representing several specialties from around the globe. Several one-on-one interviews were also conducted with leading healthcare experts, consultants and economists.

Three entities negatively impacting private practices, according to the study are:

  • Insurance companies — 58 percent of respondents indicated insurance companies as a negative impact
  • Government — 16 percent of respondents indicated the government as a negative impact
  • Hospitals — 6 percent of respondents indicated hospitals as a negative impact
