National Quality Forum Endorses Additional Infectious Disease Measures

The National Quality Forum board of directors has endorsed new infectious disease, neurological and pulmonary measures.

NQF endorsed two new infectious disease measures on severe sepsis and sepsis shock and testing for chronic hepatitis C.

NQF endorsed five neurological measures related to imaging and care for dementia and epilepsy. Four of the measures are new and one measure has been endorsed for at least three years and underwent endorsement maintenance.

Two new measures on readmission rates for patients hospitalized with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and pneumonia were also endorsed by NQF.
