Researchers evaluated the Perfecting Patient Care University, a quality improvement training program for healthcare leaders and clinicians that teaches Lean principles. After completing the program, the majority of trainees reported learning QI techniques and making cultural achievements.
The participants’ organizations scored highly in measures of “outcomes improved” and “sustainable monitoring,” but had lower scores in diffusion of QI efforts. The amount of training was associated with measures of QI success, according to the study.
