The overall Korean population in Los Angeles has increased over the last decade, and the hospital has seen a similar increase in the percent of Korean-American patients. To improve healthcare access and communication for this demographic, St. Vincent Medical Center opened the Korean Pavilion for Korean-American patients.
The pavilion includes nurses who speak fluent Korean, Korean cuisine, Korean TV channels, Korean signage and a culturally sensitive facility design.
