The health system has designated three primary care centers where it will add staff, including doulas, to provide additional care. Eskenazi is also employing community health workers, which will help improve residents’ health by connecting patients with community resources such as food pantries.
Eskenazi is also constructing a new clinical space that includes areas for organizations that help with workforce development and homeownership, according to the report. In addition, the health system plans to build a narcotics treatment center and put more money into professional development for mental health workers.
