When patients’ garments are damaged during medical emergencies, they often call on family or friends to bring them a change of clothes prior to discharge. However, not all patients can rely on outside parties for help. For this reason, Gordon Hospital has made a pledge that no patient will be discharged without appropriate attire.
During the drive, two boxes of sweatshirts, one box of sweatpants, two boxes of t-shirts, two boxes of coats and jackets, one box of men’s shirts, one box of pants and one box of shorts were collected.
According the Calhoun Times, Rhonda Martin, an executive assistant with Gordon Hospital and one of the primary organizers of the clothing drive, said, “The donations will be used to ensure that those less fortunate have a warm change of clothes and jacket to leave in.”
