One of the panelists who will speak at the conference is Joe Ebel, Licking County (Ohio) Health Commissioner. Thus far, the CDC has confirmed one case of Zika in Licking County. According to Mr. Ebel, it’s critically important for nursing professionals and nursing students to learn about the Zika virus and its dangers, as well as other global diseases.

The global disease conference — which is being hosted by the Ohio Chapter for the National Association of Associate Degree Nursing — is open to students, nurses, nurse educators, physicians, EMS personnel and any others interested in the topic of global diseases and Zika virus.

It is scheduled to take place Friday, March 4 at the campus of Central Ohio Technical College in Newark, Ohio, and The Ohio State University at Newark.
