A local resident was admitted to New Milford Hospital to undergo a radiological procedure with Dr. Waldman. The patient returned to the hospital with complications six hours after the procedure and was transferred to Danbury Hospital. He died three days later.
Medical examiners investigated the incident and determined Dr. Waldman had perforated the patient’s spleen and sent the patient home without proper monitoring immediately after the procedure. The medical examining board issued a reprimand and placed Dr. Waldman on one-year probation, during which time his performance will be monitored by a licensed radiologist.
