David M. Kwiatkowski, a former employee at Exeter (N.H.) Hospital, pleaded not guilty Dec. 3 to federal charges related to his role in a hepatitis C outbreak at the hospital, according to a Boston Globe report.
Mr. Kwiatkowski, a former medical technician, was indicted by a grand jury on 14 federal charges related to the outbreak, in which 32 patients were infected, according to the report. He allegedly stole the painkiller fentanyl at Exeter Hospital and injected himself using syringes, which hospital staff later unwittingly used to inject patients.
His trial date is Feb. 5.
