In honor of National Nurses Week, which began May 6, leaders across the health network are “walking in nurses’ shoes” for several hours as they go about their day.
Anita Adams-Jenkins, president of Kettering’s Sycamore Medical Center in Miamisburg, Ohio, followed Jim Goldschmidt, RN, as he conducted rounds in the orthopedic unit. He told WDTN that he takes around 15,000 to 20,000 steps each day at work.
Ms. Adams-Jenkins said that following Mr. Goldschmidt gave her a greater appreciation for what he does everyday and could also help her with business decisions.
“It is so important for administration and our leaders to know really what our workers, our nurses and our caregivers do,” she told WDTN.
