8th week of flu season brings highest number of pediatric deaths so far

For the week of Feb. 21 through Feb. 27, the proportion of outpatient visits for influenza-like illness in the U.S. was 3.2 percent and four pediatric deaths associated with the flu were reported, the highest number for any week so far this season, according to the CDC.

Additionally, nine of 10 U.S. regions reported flu-like illness infection levels that met or exceeded their respective baselines.
