Florida Hospital recognized for risk management, patient safety efforts

Orlando-based Florida Hospital, part of Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based -based Adventist Health System, received the 2018 Florida Society for Healthcare Risk Management and Patient Collaboration Award, according to Tampa Patch.

The award is given to hospitals that demonstrate a quantifiable excellence in patient safety and risk management.

Earlier this year, Florida Hospital became the only healthcare system within the Greater Tampa Bay area to have every participating facility earn an A from Leapfrog Group.

"Our goal is to provide each of our patients with the best and safest care, every time we deliver care," said Robin McGuinness, MD, senior executive officer of patient outcomes for Florida Hospital, West Florida Division. "This award highlights the commitment and dedication of our teams to provide exceptional whole-person health in a safe environment."
