Since its founding, PSMF has collaborated with medical safety experts to develop processes to address common patient safety challenges facing hospitals today. These processes, called Actionable Patient Safety Solutions, are adaptable to most clinical settings. Parrish Medical Center has made significant efforts to address PSMF’s 12 safety challenges, including initiatives to reduce deaths caused by hospital-associated infections like surgical site infections and catheter associated urinary tract infections. The cumulative efforts taken by Parrish Medical Center have resulted in 142 total lives saved so far in 2016, according to a release.
