FDA warns healthcare providers to not use Wallcur IV solutions on patients

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has alerted healthcare providers not to use Wallcur simulated intravenous products on any patients, as they are for training purposes only and their use can lead to adverse events.

According to the FDA, some Wallcur training IV products have been distributed to healthcare facilities and used on patients. The use of one such product in particular, Practi IV Solution Bags, has been associated with serious adverse events.

The FDA asks providers to report any incidents of use of Wallcur training IV products on patients to the MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting program. Find more information here.
