The hospital is following recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to keep the patient, other patients and employees safe, according to the report.

If the patient does test positive for the Ebola virus, it would be the first confirmed case in the U.S., although other Americans who contracted the disease in West Africa have been returned to the U.S. for treatment. Currently, Emory University Hospital in Atlanta is treating an Ebola patient, and NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, Md., recently admitted an American volunteer physician who was exposed to Ebola.
