Here are three things to know:
1. Of the 625 Ebola infections, 577 are confirmed. Health officials also reported 377 deaths linked to the outbreak, 329 of which are directly linked to the virus. Officials are still investigating an additional 101 cases, and 220 people were cured.
2. Congo officials on Jan. 3 opened a 16-bed Ebola treatment center in the city of Katwa to treat more patients in the country’s northeast region. The care facility in Beni that election protestors attacked Dec. 27 is also open again.
3. Health workers have vaccinated 56,509 people against Ebola since the outbreak started in August.
