The citations previously leveled against DMC by the state mostly entailed improper training of staff regarding the sanitation of medical equipment.
“We are pleased that we resolved this matter to LARA’s satisfaction and that the hospital is in compliance with regulations designed to protect the health and safety of patients who entrust us with their care,” the hospital announced, according to The Detroit News.
In November, DMC passed a surprise CMS inspection of the hospital’s sterilization facilities. Prior to passing the inspection, the hospital had been at risk of losing its Medicare and Medicaid funding over issues with its central sterile department and infection control processes.
