Parkland Memorial has been mired in controversy since CMS determined it had committed a string of patient safety violations, including EMTALA violations, infection control deficiencies and improper nursing staff levels. The hospital has since submitted a corrective action plan, which was approved by CMS.
Parkland Memorial previously had until today to demonstrate compliance, but CMS pushed the date of the re-survey back to the end of this month in order to give state regulators time to complete their reports on the re-survey.
