The group also intends to cut serious saftey events by 25 percent and reduce several hospital acquired infections and issues by 40 percent, according to the article.
The group is made up of over 80 hospitals across the county, the article noted. The group began in 2009 with 8 Ohio Children’s Hospitals and has grown to 80 hospitals in 30+ states and DC. Cardinal Health began their support in 2012.
While several of the participating hospitals are considered “competing,” they freely share their data to improve patient safety.
