CMS adds 4 measures for flu vaccine, MRSA and C. diff to provider compare sites

CMS added four ratings to its long-term care hospital and inpatient rehabilitation facility compare websites, which allow patients to compare quality data on provider performance.

The LTCH and IRF websites currently display quality measures concerning ulcers, catheter-associated urinary tract infection and unplanned readmission measures for 30 days post-discharge. The LTCH website also features a measure for central line-associated bloodstream infection.

Here are the four measures CMS added to the LTCH and IRF websites Dec. 12.

1. Percent of residents or patients who were assessed and appropriately given the seasonal influenza vaccination

2. Influenza vaccination among healthcare personnel

3. National healthcare safety network facilitywide inpatient hospital-onset Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus bacteremia outcome measure

4. National healthcare safety network facilitywide inpatient hospital-onset Clostridium difficile outcome measure
