Children's Hospitals' Solutions for Patient Safety announces new board of directors

The Ohio Children's Hospitals' Solutions for Patient Safety has appointed 11 new faces to the Children's Hospitals SPS board of directors.

SPS members work to achieve specific goals to reduce harm in children's hospitals through the transparent sharing of data, successes, and learnings.

The 11 leaders from across the country — including children's hospital CEOs, leaders and a family/patient representative — will oversee and advise the activities of SPS.

Appointed to the new board are the following individuals:

1. Michael Fisher, president & CEO of Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center

2. Steve Allen, MD, CEO of Nationwide Children's Hospital (Columbus, Ohio)

3. George S. Barrett, chairman & CEO of Cardinal Health (Dublin, Ohio)

4. Madeline Bell, president & COO of Children's Hospital of Philadelphia

5. Christopher G. Dawes, president & CEO of Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford (Palo Alto, Calif.)  

6. Patricia M. DePompei, RN, President of University Hospitals/Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital (Cleveland)

7. Marcella L. Doderer, president & CEO of Arkansas Children's Hospital (Little Rock)

8. Sandra L. Fenwick, president & CEO of Boston Children's Hospital    

9. Rick W. Merrill, president & CEO of Cook Children's Health Care System (Fort Worth, Texas)  

10. Beth Daley Ullem, patient safety advocate for Quality and Safety First

11. Katy Welkie, CEO of Primary Children's Hospital (Salt Lake City)
