CDC: Every region in the US reports flu cases surpassing baseline levels

For the week of Feb. 14-20, each of the 10 regions surveyed in the U.S. reported instances of outpatient visits related to flu virus exceeding their established respective baselines, according to the CDC.

During the same week, one flu-associated pediatric death was reported and nationwide flu activity based on proportion of outpatient visits related to the virus rose to 3.2 percent. This equates to 5.8 lab-confirmed hospitalizations due to influenza virus per 100,000 individuals.
