Last November, a review by The Joint Commission found several problems at Carlisle Regional, including a lack of compliance with anesthesia regulations, lack of planning around patient care, failure to conform to fire and smoke prevention requirements and failure to safely prepare medications.
After the commission’s discovery of the hospital’s shortcomings, Carlisle Regional’s accreditation was put on hold until the hospital could address all the problems and pass a follow-up inspection. The inspection was conducted last Monday, and the hospital regained its full accreditation status the following day, according to the report.
