Bus crash sends 12 people to Rhode Island hospitals

A dozen people were taken to hospitals in Providence, R.I., after a public transit bus crashed in the city’s downtown area Jan. 20, reports the Providence Journal.

The bus collided with a Jeep Grand Cherokee, injuring 11 people on board. The driver of the Jeep was also hurt in the crash.

Ambulances transported six patients to Rhode Island Hospital, three to Roger Williams Medical Center and three to Miriam Hospital, all of which are in Providence.

Providence Deputy Fire Chief Steve Capracotta told the Journal some injuries involved broken bones.
