Not only can the online tool generate these flu forecasts on both a national and a regional level, it can do so up to three weeks ahead of the official CDC flu estimates, according to the hospital.

HealthMap Flu Trends is overseen Boston Children’s chief innovation officer and HealthMap co-founder John Brownstein, PhD, and Mauricio Santillana, PhD, of Boston Children’s Computational Health Informatics Program and the Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.
