UPMC Agrees to Offer Consultation Services Overseas

The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center has entered into a three-agreement with Guangzhou, China-based KingMed Diagnostics in which UPMC will provide second opinion pathology consultations and train KingMed pathologists, according to a Pittsburgh Post-Gazette news report.

The hospital will be paid a flat fee for each pathology case, but other details about the contract were not disclosed. According to the news report, UPMC already has established its presence in other countries, including Italy, Ireland and Japan.
