AHE, an American Hospital Association personal membership group, commented on a proposed rule by the Drug Enforcement Administration governing the secure disposal of controlled substances by DEA registrants and drug users.

AHE wrote that using a paper form does not take into account the use of automated drug dispensing machines by hospitals to document destroyed controlled substances and would increase the paperwork burden for clinicians, according to the report.
